Squirrels snatch pinecones from the threat'ning frost.
Chirps absent from the stagnant morning air.
Sun's sad attempts does Nature's will exhaust.
Where could be that promised turtledove pair?
The pathways dim, abandoned 'til spring's tide
Sweeps 'cross fields of daisies, nature's daughters.
The purity of winter's genocide
Sweeps 'cross domains of earth, sky, and water.
Yet left untouched is man's chaste haven: Home.
Where Prometheus' fire incenses hope,
Where gumdrops line rooftops and gummies roam,
Where frostbite and shivers on warmth elope.
Yet wherein winter lies spring's salvation,
For without sin there is no redemption.
A memory left behind
A love long since forgot
Fading 'way from existence
A lesson left untaught
A hand against a cheek
Patterns in the sky
Let the stars speak to you
Let them say goodbye
Drifting hands cry their touch
While mouths can only say
I'll miss you when you're not near
As we drift our seperate ways

Looking back at yesterday
My memories retrace
As you left me shaking
A flower - lost in space
